C'mon America..........

One of the big topics in the news right now is the proposed Mosque to be built a few blocks from the 9-11 site.  This topic has taken a lot of criticism lately and I think it’s time for Vandrae to weigh in.

The Mosque is being opposed on the grounds that it is insensitive to the events that occurred 9 years ago at ground zero.  Many people argue that this is unjustified and flat out ignorant, but if you’re going to fall in the trap America, then please let me catch you before you fall.

Vandrae Says…….
A Mosque is a place where a Muslim can go worship his or her god.  What’s wrong with that? I understand that the attackers on 9-11 were of the Islamic background, but they were extremists.  There are over a billion Muslims on our planet and for the most part they are peaceful people.  Plus, this is just what those terrorists of 9-11 want.  They want us to be upset with Muslims they want Americans to be confused and distraught.

C’mon America we are better than that!  The people who are proposing to build the Mosque aren’t terrorists in fact they are Americans, Muslim Americans. They are no different than you or I.  They have every right under our powerful constitution to build their Mosque wherever they want to.

The war on terrorism is a war against TERRORISTS, not Muslims, and the sooner we can engrave that into our skulls the better off we will be.  In the 9-11 attacks there were over 3,000 Americans killed some of them Muslim Americans.  Plus, overseas we have Muslim Americans serving in our military, fighting this war on terror.  How do we explain to them when they come home after serving their country that they are only allowed to pray where we want them to? Think America! It’s not a them or they thing, it’s an US. Be the change you want to see in the world.

The second we believe that we are in a war with Islam, Al-Qaeda wins……

  1. I completely agree with you! From my point of view this would be like saying after the Catholic Priest incidents involving children that Catholic churches shouldn’t be build near schools or daycares, which would seem extreme to most Americans, so why do so many people object to the Mosque being built there? It’s just seems like a lot more hate than acceptance is being shown by all the conflict surrounding the Mosque being built, and 9/11 should have shown us that we need to always stay united as a country. We shouldn’t lump Muslims in with terrorists, that’s stereotyping and judging which in my opinion isn’t our place to do.
